The Romano-owned companies began back in 2003 as a loan brokering business established by Kess Romano and his father Jerry Romano, originating residential mortgages and other loans secured by real estate in Washington State.
When credit markets began disappearing across the country during the 2008 recession, Kess recognized a market need for alternative capital sources and pivoted to private equity capital. Kess chose the established professional path and obtained both his Series 65 securities qualification and the Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm designation. Romano Capital was the first RIA in Washington State to focus solely on alternative real estate funds, which is still a rarity amongst alternative real estate investment firms.
The firm has grown to include a talented group of over 50 professionals. Our managed assets are a combination of family and high net worth investor’s money. We average 12 active funds at any time, all focused on real estate in the greater Vancouver, Washington region.
